Fort Gratiot - MI

The oldest surviving lighthouse in Michigan, Fort Gratiot, was built in 1825 near the mouth of the St. Clair River. The first lighthouse stood 32-feet tall and cast its beacon for years before Michigan became a state. Officials completed the replacement beacon in 1829, at a more northerly location where it stands to this day. BASE 2.5"W X 2"D 3.5"H
