Chapman Guide to Nautical Flags

There is an established International code of flag signals. One or more flags are hoisted aloft on a halyard where they can be seen by another vessel. the set of code flags shown here consists of one each of 26 alphabet flags, 10 numeral pennants, 3 substitutes (or repeaters) and an answering pennant (the Navy and Coast Guard use a fourth repeater). This guide contains information on what flags to fly, flags of importance, size of flags, special flags etc.
