Haig Point SC

Built in 1873 on the grounds of a former plantation, Haig Point lighthouse has withstood powerful storms, earthquakes and the Civil War. The South Carolina lighthouse is also known as Daufuskie Island Range beacon. Although deactivated from 1934-1987, the lighthouse was restored by the head architect of Colonial Williamsburg. The Victorian house has a square, forty foot tower with a fifth order lens in the tower. Today, Haig Point Lighthouse serves as a bed and breakfast.
