The story behind the Gloryland Lighthouse in rural New Castle, Indiana is a storybook in itself. The 32-foot-tall lighthouse, equipped with a rotating 283 million candle power beacon is on the grounds of the Farmers Pike Festival.

What started as a "field sale" in 1979 has now grown to a gigantic festival of vendors from all over the United States selling their wares on one gigantic Labor Day weekend each year.

The Gloryland Lighthouse Chapel, built by DeLayne Land, came later, but later year during the Labor Day weekend festival the lighthouse guest book was signed by thousands of people from all over the United States.
