Old Cape Henry - VA

In 1774, sandstone blocks were quarried and laid at Cape Henry, a headland overlooking the mouth of the Chesapeake. But it wasn’t until eighteen years later that officials illuminated the light in the octagonal tower. Amazingly, this was the exact location where English colonists first set foot in 1607.
