St Augustine First Order Fresnel Lens

A magnificent First Order Fresnel lens was lit on October 15, 1874 in Florida's St. Augustine Lighthouse, which had been constructed after the Civil War. The lens used lard oil as its fuel at first, then kerosene, and finally electricity in 1936. This replica joins the special Harbour Lights series of Fresnel lenses--"the Jewel of the Lighthouse." Each acrylic lens replica is mounted on a wood-like base and lights up by the provided plug-in adapter or 2 "AA" batteries (not included). Comes with a fascinating history of the Fresnel lens.
