Amelia Island - FL

Lying at the entrance to St Mary’s River, Amelia Island lighthouse was “recycled” from the light that was originally on Little Cumberland Island Georgia. Although comparatively small when measured against other Florida lights, the 64 ft height was deemed adequate due to the natural elevation of the island. The station was electrified in 1935.
