Cape Hatteras NC (revised edition)

The original tower was built in 1802 and was replaced by the 191 ft tower we see today in 1870. Cape Hatteras is the tallest and most recognized lighthouse in the US. The present light was moved in 1999 and the move of the century took place in order to keep the North Carolina light from falling into the shifting sands. Harbour Lights has made more replicas of this light than any others.
