This lighthouse stands 158 feet tall, is an unpainted red brick tower, and flashes a first order Fresnel lens over 18 nautical miles. Visitors may climb the 214 steps to view the Outer Banks North Carolina scenery. The same company that moved Cape Hatteras light has restored the light and the keeper’s cottage is on the National Registry of Historical Places. The Outer Banks Conservationists, Inc keep the tower and buildings in tip top shape.
