USCGC Eagle DVD
The USCGC Eagle was seized from the German Navy as a war prize during World War II. The historic tall ship today serves as a training vessel for more than 600 US Coast Guard new officer cadets annually. This educational and entertaining documentary chronicles the experiences of some of these men and women during their rugged—and sometimes perilous—preparation to serve our country. Watch as trainees climb rigging 130 feet above the water, complete action-packed drills including man overboard, firefighting, damage control, first aid and more. Hear them tell their stories of why they serve. Written, produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker David Wittkower. Suitable for all ages. 80 Min. Color & BW.
