Bullock Point - RI

A portable beacon was installed on this site in 1872 and the Victorian dwelling was constructed in 1876 with the lantern room on its roof. The Lighthouse had a fixed red light from its sixth order lens and kerosene was needed to fuel the light since there was no electricity at the Rhode Island station. The hurricane of 1938 undermined the pier beneath the lighthouse and damaged the structure beyond repair. It was torn down a few years later.
