Nestled in a rocky outcropping on the coastline, this granite lighthouse first came into operation in 1890. It contained a 5th order lens with a flashing red light. The keeper’s house was destroyed in 1938. Today the Rhode Island light serves as a navigational aid and its not open to the public. It can be seen best from the water.
