Cockspur, GA

Just a short distance from Tybee Island, this sentinel rises from a tidal creek. Cockspur Lighthouse was established in 1849 marking the South Channel of the Savannah River in Georgia. Another light marked the North Channel designating these lights as range lights. Boats were unable to navigate the South Channel and the beacon was discontinued in 1909 and abandoned in 1949. Restored in 1978, the light is part of Fort Pulaski National Monument. A facelift followed in 1991. To view this sentinel up close, one may need to wade through a tidal creek.

Harbour Lights Collectible Replica - Open Edition. 5” x 7” Lit by plug-in AC adapter provided or 3 "AA" batteries (not included).
