Notes:
Danskammer Point was a rocky point projecting into the Hudson River. After a steamer ran into the point, the light and fog bell were established. The name comes from a Dutch phrase meaning "devil’s dancehall," after an early Dutch settler saw local Indians doing ceremonial dances there. We'd like to get more information on this light station.
Characteristic and Range: Fixed white (1915).
Description of Tower: c. 1915: Wooden tower with skeletal upper portion, light 49 feet high; c. 1927: Black, square pyramidal skeleton tower with white central column on top of white tank house, light 55 feet high.

Date Deactivated: c. 1920s
Fog Signal: Fog bell with striking machinery.
Current Use: Destroyed.
