Panama Lighthouses falling into disrepair

Shown here is one of the lighthouses in the Panama Canal. It seems ever since the United States relinquished control of the Canal the lighthouses have fallen into disrepair. Using a zoom lens, Jerry Matyiko of Expert House Movers took this photo while traveling through the canal. Some one has painted on the lighthouse the words, “It’s yours,” possibly referring to the fact that anyone who wants the old structure can have it.

Expert House Movers are no strangers to moving lighthouses. They were actively involved in the moving of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, NC; Southeast Light in Rhode Island; and Cape Cod (Highland Light) and Nauset Light, both on Cape Cod, MA.

Now, if we could only convince Expert House Movers to move this lighthouse from the Panama Canal to Maine.
