The spiraling stairway of Bodie Island Lighthouse is a work of art in itself. Visitors to the lighthouse are not allowed to climb to the top. Hopefully, the National Park Service’s plan will allow for strengthening of the 214 steps of the staircase to allow visitors to climb to the top.
