You will need to look closely at this photo. It shows the digging of the ditch to bring electricity to Little Sable Point Lighthouse in 1954. Keeper Henry “Hank” Vavrina is standing to the right. Jim Harkenrider and contractor Bert Fowler are shown in the ditch. This most likely was the last photograph taken of the house, as a few weeks later it was torn down and Keeper Vavrina was transferred to Big Sable Light.
