The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, barely visible in the foggy night air, played a medley of patriotic music including the Washington Post March and the 1812 Overture as the Civil War cannons fired over the ocean. They finished the evening with Stars and Stripes Forever, which led to the relighting and the spectacular fireworks display over the fort and the lighthouse.
