Photo Caption:

Michigan's Gull Rock Lighthouse sits on a small rock outcropping, not much larger than the lighthouse itself, two miles off the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula between the mainland and Manitou Island. Established in 1867, the lighthouse is now abandoned and has suffered greatly from the ravages of time. John Nolan served here as Keeper from 1897 to 1907. The lighthouse has now been placed on the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List of Endangered Lighthouses
