Where is Harmony’s Photograph?

We have been searching high and low for a photograph of Rear Admiral David B. Harmony, USN and Chairman of the Lighthouse Board 1889 to 1891. Harmony served as the Commander of the New York Naval Yard, 1869-1872, the USS Portsmouth, USS Kearsarge, USS Plymouth, USS Tennessee, USS Colorado, Special Duty at the Navy Department from 1885-1889. He retired on June 26, 1893 and died on November 2, 1917 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. During his career he also served as the Executive Officer of the iron-clad Nahant in the first attack on Fort Sumter on April 7, 1863. We would like to find a photograph of him. Having the illustrious career that he did, there must be photographs of him.

If any of our readers can locate a photograph of him, please contact:

Tim Harrison, Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P. O. Box 1690, Wells, ME 04090 or email Timh@LHDigest.com.
