On Saturday, August 23rd at the Navesink Twin Lights in New Jersey, a Special Unveiling of the Southeastern Lighthouses Commemorative Stamps Ceremony was held. The ceremony got underway just after 11AM. Brian Sheeran, Postmaster, Highlands, NJ was the emcee for the day. The South River Girl Scouts got things going with the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Guest speakers included Tom Laverty, curator at Navesink Twin Lights and the President of the New Jersey Lighthouse Society, Howard Koslow creator of the lighthouse stamps, William Wright who is the son and grandson of keepers of lighthouses from New Jersey to Connecticut and a couple of the Girl Scouts who spoke about how their troop earned their Lighthouse History Badges.

After all was said and done, extra-large images of the stamps were unveiled to the audience. After the ceremony guests were treated to lunch underneath a tent set up for the day on the grounds and people lined up to have the speakers of the day sign their programs or to have Howard Koslow sign their stamps or commemorative caches that were available.
