Tim Harrison and Sandra Grady of the American Lighthouse are shown here with a facsimile of the $5000.00 check recently sent to the Grand Island East Channel Lighthouse Rescue Project in Michigan. The check consisted of $2500.00 in donations sent in by readers of Lighthouse Digest and $2500.00 in matching funds by the American Lighthouse Foundation. The money, which is only a small amount of what is needed, will be used by the Rescue Project toward stabilization of the lighthouse. More funds are desperately needed to prevent further erosion of the shoreline in front of the lighthouse and to preserve the lighthouse is an appealing semi-ruin appearance while rescuing it from collapse. Donations can be sent to – East Channel Lighthouse Rescue Project, P.O. Box 201, Munising, MI 49862. Your help is needed!
