Brown’s Point to Accommodate Guests

It now appears that lighthouse lovers will have the opportunity to spend the night at the former keeper’s house of Brown’s Point Lighthouse in Tacoma, Washington.

Up until now, the house had been rented to private individuals, however local lighthouse historians petitioned the commissioners to accept a proposal from the Points Northeast Historical Society to open the house to overnight visitors.

Historical Society member Mavis Steers said that they want to “attract lighthouse lovers, people who are interested in the history of lighthouses.”

The society would like to redo the lighthouse to an early 1900’s time-frame with period furniture and a vintage stove in the kitchen.
