Harland & Wolff of Belfast, Ireland, Shipbuilders to the World, introduces the Titanic Maritime Heritage Collection. This series of authentic painted resin re-creations bring to life the epic story of Titanic's maiden voyage in April, 1912, and her final fate in the North Atlantic icy waters. Having struck an iceberg on her starboard bow, she sank about 350 miles southeast of Newfoundland, Canada.
John Jacob Astor, age 48 and the wealthiest passenger on the Titanic, was returning to New York with his second wife Madeline, who was 5 months pregnant. After helping his wife into a lifeboat, Astor turned to help other women and children. He went down with the ship but not before freeing his beloved Airedale from the ship's kennel. This figurine is mounted on a wooden base with story card on the underside. 3" x 6".
