Hatteras Keepers Book is a must

The cover of the May issue of Lighthouse Digest is from the new book, "Hatteras Keepers, Oral Family Histories", which was edited by Cheryl-Shelton Roberts and researched by Sandra MacLean Clunies. This is the first book to ever research the history of the keepers that served at America's tallest and most recognizable lighthouses in the world. The book is packed with rare historical photos of the Cape Hatteras site, never before published of "just located" photographs of keepers and tons of amazing stories and facts you never read about before. It is well written, well researched and we highly recommend it. It is not available from Lighthouse Depot. It is only available through the National Park Service by sending $19.95 plus $4.95 shipping to: Eastern National Book Store, P.O. Box 860, Buxton, NC 27920. North Carolina residents must add 6% sales tax. To order the book by credit card you can call 252-995-5610. Be sure to tell them you heard about it from Lighthouse Digest and Lighthouse Depot.

If you wish an autographed copy of the book, autographed by Cherly Shelton-Roberts, autographed copies are available only by mail (no phone calls) from the American Lighthouse Foundation, P.O. Box 889, Wells, ME 04090 by sending $24.95 which includes shipping. There are only 3000 copies left and it is not scheduled to be reprinted. All profits go to the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society and the American Lighthouse Foundation.

The Light was Their Signature

From the amount of response that was received, the cover of the March issue of Lighthouse Digest was one of the most popular ever. It was from the poster called, "The Light Was Their Signature" from a painting by artist Glenn Eure. The poster is for sale with all the proceeds going to help defray the cost of the Cape Hatteras Descendants Homecoming, which is an all-volunteer effort. The poster measures 16" x 20" and is available, (shipped rolled in a tube, ready for framing), for $11.45 which includes shipping from Eastern National Bookstore, P.O. Box 860, Buxton, NC 27920. North Carolina residents must add 6% sales tax. Credit card orders can be placed by calling 252-995-5610. Be sure to tell them you heard about it from Lighthouse Digest and Lighthouse Depot.
