Lighthouse Depot commissioned Harbour Lights to replicate the Portland Observatory, the last remaining maritime signal tower in the United States. Built in 1807 under the watchful eye of Captain Lemuel Moody, the tower made Maine's bustling harbor more efficient. Here, Moody signaled the arrival of vessels with specialized flags. The shingled, 65-foot octagonal Observatory is now rendered in a limited edition of 1,800 resin pieces, specially crafted by Harbour Lights for uncompromising quality and available only from Lighthouse Depot. Harbour Lights introduces its very first lighted replica depicting the original Minots Ledge Light erected in 1850 near Cohasset, Massachusetts. The iron skeleton tower, built directly into the ledge of the treacherous shoals, was thought to withstand any storm. However, it stood for less than a year before a gale knocked it down, killing the keeper and two assistants. The brick Minots Ledge (famous for its unique flashing sequence of 1-4-3 spelling out "I LOVE YOU") built in 1860 to take its place still stands today. Harbour Lights has used this signature flash in its polyresin replica dubbing it the "I Love You Lighthouse." Blinking lantern light requires 2 "AA" batteries (not included); wave base light has an inline switch plug. 7" x 7"
