11" X 9" New this year from Lefton is California's well known and historic Alcatraz Lighthouse. This is a replica of the second lighthouse to be built on the island. It was here, in 1946, when a prison riot broke out on the island, the US Marines had to attack to regain control of the prison. After the prison was abandoned by the US Government in 1969, a group of native Americans burned the lighthouse keepers quarters when they took over the island. Today, the tower, which still stands, is automated with a modern beacon. However, the historic original Fresnel lens can be viewed in the island's museum. Not to be confused with the original Alcatraz. NOT AVAILABLE AS A LAMP.
