The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society's maritime art show and sale. Sat./Sun., Oct. 11 & 12 from 1pm - 5pm both days. Public voting for "Best In Show" on Sat. Sunday's show reveals the judge's winners including Best In Show and the public's pick for "Best In Show". Types of artworks include paintings, photographs, printings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, wood,and fiber arts. The show is free, but donations are always appreciated. The Lighthouse is located off Lake Ave. directly behind Holy Cross Catholic Church in Rochester, NY.

Visit the newly restored Point Cabrillo Light Station and Nature Preserve for a spectacular whale watching opportunity on the bluffs behind the historic lighthouse. Aquarium and indoor tidepool exhibits, lighthouse history, unique artwork in the gift shop, guided bird walks, displays by The Marine Mammal Center of Sausalito, children's activities, and educational opportunities for the entire family. The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Museum opens, weekends only, for the 2003 season. Our annex houses exhibits about the pre-historic history of the site and pictures of a freight train wreck in Dec. 2001. Our Keeper's house showcases the Village of Charlotte, NY; transportation and shipping at the Port of the Genesee; assorted lighthouse lore. Climb the 40' tower to view our 4th order Fresnel lens and get a spectacular view of the harbor.
