This lighthouse replaced an 1814 lighthouse that was built too high and was often obscured by clouds.

Characteristic and Range: Fl (2) W 10s. 2 white flashes every 10 seconds, also exhibited by day when the fog signal is sounding; nominal range 25 nautical miles.
Description of Tower: Conical tower with alternating black and white horizontal bands.
