A lightship was at this site from 1834 to 1861. The lighthouse was replaced by a small automatic beacon in the same location.

Description of Tower: White hexagonal screwpile lighthouse

This light is not operational

Date Established: 1869

Date Deactivated: 1965

Optics: Fifth-order Fresnel lens.

Current Use: Destroyed.
