Notes:
The 1824 tower was moved to Prudence Island, where it still is in operation, in 1851. The foundation of the keeper's house was damaged when struck by a submarine in 1923; it was demolished the following year. The lighthouse today is on the grounds of a Hyatt Hotel.

South on RI 114 in Newport: Turn right at Admiral Kalbfus Road. Then turn left at Third Street, then right at Sycamore Street (one way). Turn left at Washington Street, then turn right at the Goat Island Connector. Park at the Hyatt Hotel. The grounds of the lighthouse are accessible by passing through the lobby of the hotel. A good view is also possible from the lighthouse cruises offered periodically by Bay Queen Cruises in Warren, Rhode Island. The cruise provides good views of a number of lighthouses.
