Notes:
Since the 1970s ice has pushed against the lighthouse and caused it to tilt; the structure now has about a 20 degree list. In 1996 the Coast Guard announced plans to destroy the structure, but public complaints and opposition from the Maryland Historical Trust have so far kept them from doing so.
