This is one of six limestone "Imperial Towers" built in the Georgian Bay in the late 1850s. The lighthouse is said to be haunted by the ghost of a sea captain wrecked nearby.

The park is accessible via the ferry that operates between Tobermory and South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island during the spring, summer and fall, phone (519) 596-2510. The lighthouse can be seen from the ferry.
