U.S. Bureau of Land Management
Notes:
The Coast Guard station and lighthouse keeper's house on Plum Island were abandoned when the Coast Guard left the island in the early 1990s. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working to obtain ownership of the island from the Bureau of Land Management, and the Door County Maritime Museum and Lighthouse Preservation Society plans to restore the buildings. This cannot take place until a Coast Guard cleanup of contaminated soil takes place.
