Ownership of this light station has been transferred to Washington State Parks. It is located in Lime Kiln Point State Park and is managed by the Whale Museum (www.whale-museum.org) as a whale research station. The keeper's dwellings are used for housing of park personnel.

This lighthouse is located in Lime Kiln Point State Park at at 6158 Lighthouse Road, Friday Harbor. There are picnic areas and a whale watching platform in the park. Lighthouse tours are offered in summer on Saturday evenings.
