Directions:
From Michel Way: "This light is very interesting and can be reached by hiking about six miles from the parking area out to the end of the spit. Plan on the whole day and start early. The hike out will be on plenty of beach (you can only walk on the left or Strait side of the spit the other side is wildlife refuge). The return hike will be at incoming tide and you will be forced to clamber over the drift and rocks; you will run out of beach if you leave late. You can also get there by boat or kayak from the river side of Sequim (pronounced 'skwim') to the small landing on the inner side of the spit." The site is staffed by New Dungeness Lightstation Association members and tours are available to hikers. Bathrooms, a drinking fountain, and picnic tables also are available at the station.
