Notes:
This lighthouse once stood offshore on a screwpile foundation. It was moved onshore in 1955 and became a private residence. The Washington County Historical Society has built a replica of the earlier 1866 Roanoke River Lighthouse for use as a maritime museum in Plymouth.

Steve Wright reports in June 2003: "The lighthouse is visible across a small cove from opposite number 106 Blount Rd. The properties closest to the cove are posted requesting that people photographing the lighthouse remain on the street."
