Lighthouse Keeper Wesley Austin is shown here, wearing his U.S. Lighthouse Service uniform, posing at Ocracoke Lighthouse. After serving as Assistant Keeper at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, he went on to serve at Currituck Lighthouse and then to Ocracoke Light where he was the Head Keeper and served for seventeen years from 1912 to 1929. Born in 1864, he died in 1941.
