Julian Haywood Austin Sr. is shown here in the 1940’s with one of the assistant keepers at Wade Point Lighthouse, NC. He served as an assistant keeper at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse 1928 to 1930. Born in 1898, he died in 1970.
