Photo Caption:

The crowd begins to gather at the “Circle of Stones” (where the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse used to stand) while being entertained by the Cape Hatteras Chorus. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse can be seen in the distance at its new location. The American Lighthouse Foundation suggested that an “Act of Congress” should declare the “Circle of Stones” as a National Memorial to America’s Lighthouse Keepers.
