Boon Island Lighthouse from Miriam Dolby Hammel’s photo album from a photo taken in 1944. There is some type of large kite at the top of the lighthouse. The Dolby’s witnessed the surrender of a German submarine to the Coast Guard from the lantern room of the lighthouse at the end of World War II.
