This was the last lens that was used in the Deepwater Range Front Light. It concentrated the light from a single electric lamp into a beam of approximately 200,000 candlepower. It is shown here on the day that it was removed from the tower at Deepwater Range Rear Light in November 1952. Members of the Coast Guard who helped dismantle and remove it posed with the lens and William Spear Jr. - (l-r) Chief Boatswain Marvin Andrews, Norman Barksdale, Mr. Miller, Vincent Grieal, Bill Spear Jr. son of Keeper Capt. William Spear and John Laiero. Photograph courtesy of Rosemarie Jones.
