The popularity of lighthouse collectibles has really blossomed since 1991! Guardian of the Night lighthouses vary between 9 and 12 inches tall, have a Suggested Retail Price of $48 and are scheduled for arrival in November. The first twelve Guardian of the Night sculptures include Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, Alcatraz, California, Cape Neddick, Maine and St. Augustine, Florida (just to name a few). With the low-wattage bulb glowing from the lantern room and resin windows, the beacon and Keeper’s Quarters bring forth romantic visions of a warm hearth on a cold stormy night.
When you bring Guardians of the Night home, a door is opened to a new realm of décor. Should you display the lighted sentinels with your Limited Edition collection? How will the Little Lights look next to the Guardians? Can my curio cabinet accommodate the electrical wire? This is a GREAT “problem” to solve, and hours of enjoyment can ensue solving it!

So, to borrow from some of the collector’s charming displays over the years, here are a few neat ideas to create your own Lighthouse Lover’s Paradise:
1) Create little centers of interest throughout your home. Feature regional groupings of lighthouses or use your favorite combination to make “stations”. For example, place all your New Jersey lighthouses together and add accessories to enhance the theme.
2) Commemorate your lighthouse adventures! When you get those photos back, enlarge your favorites and place the sculptures nearby. Better yet, frame a summary of your travels so that guests in your home can re-live your journey. Over the years, you may forget those little details that made your vacation so special!
3) Use Guardian of the Night sculptures in place of candles. Add warmth to your home for your holiday gatherings, using the low light from the lantern rooms to give a little sparkle to cozy spots. We could all use a little guiding light at night!
