Avery Point added to Doomsday List

We have recently heard that there is some talk about tearing down the old Avery Point Memorial Tower located on the University of Connecticut's Avery Point Campus.

Although originally built as a memorial tower, it was once lit by the U.S. Coast Guard. We have very little historical information on the tower.
