Notes:
This lighthouse was popularized by the children's book "The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge," by Hildegarde H. Swift, published in 1942. The lighthouse originally served as the the Sandy Hook North Beacon at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, from 1880 to 1917. It was moved to Jeffrey's Hook in 1921. The light was relit as a private aid to navigation on September 19, 2002.
