Notes:
The IJmuiden range lights were built to guide vessels into the Amsterdam Ship Canal. Although light lists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries always describe the tower as painted in red and white bands, old color postcards generally show black and white bands. The tower was completely repainted in a brownish red color in 1909. The lantern of the IJmuiden Rear Light is on display in the town of Vlaardingen, on the Maas River west of Rotterdam.
