Notes:
The first lighthouse on Egg Rock burned down in 1897. It was replaced by a square tower attached to the keeper's quarters. In 1922 the light was discontinued, and the lighthouse building was offered to anyone who could move it off the island. A buyer hired a crew and a barge to move the building, but as they moved it downhill on the island, a rope snapped and the structure fell into the ocean. The island is now a bird sanctuary.
