The Coast Guard still maintains the optics at this lighthouse , but the U.S. Navy owns the site and buildings. A group called the Friends of the Pensacola Lighthouse is working for the restoration of the lighthouse. There are many stories of ghostly hauntings here.

Museum?
There is no museum, but the Pensacola Lighthouse is open for tours from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The last tour begins at 3:30. Special group arrangements can be made with the Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers. Tours are free. Children under 6 are not allowed to climb the tower. Route 295 leads to the Naval Air Station, where you can receive directions to the lighthouse.
Keepers: Jeremiah Ingraham (1825-1840, died in service); Michaela Penalber Ingraham (widow of Jeremiah Ingraham, 1840-1855), Joseph F. Palmes (1858-1861), Robert McCormack (1863-?).
