This is the oldest surviving lighthouse on the Great Lakes, and the oldest landmark in Toronto. The first keeper died mysteriously and legend says the lighthouse is haunted. In 1958 the lighthouse was transferred to Toronto's Parks Department and it was renovated during the Winter Works Incentive Program in 1961-1962.
