Notes:
This lighthouse, often said to resemble a castle, is under restoration; donations are welcomed. A reopening is planned for 2002. The original Fresnel lens has been located in a Coast Guard office in Cleveland, and it will be returned to the tower after the restoration is complete. The light was discontinued when the Mackinac Bridge was built very close by.

There is a Lighthouse Information Center located inside the old fog signal building. It is open during the summer.

Directions:
This lighthouse is located at the foot of the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City. Take Exit 336 from I-75. Follow Nicolet Avenue through Mackinaw City, then turn right on Huron Avenue and follow to the lighthouse. There is a picnic area around the lighthouse. It can also be seen from lighthouse cruises offered by Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry Service. See www.sheplerswww.com/group/light.htm or call 231-436-5023.
